The zebra that doesn't walk straight
Dans la savane, un zèbre ne marche pas droit… il zigzague !
Il ne marche pas en ligne, il ne fait pas comme les autres zèbres trop sérieux.
Un jour, il saute entre les arbres, il ne regarde pas devant lui et… BAM ! Il rentre dans un buisson.
« Ouille ! Ce buisson est très piquant! » dit le zèbre.
In the savanna, a zebra doesn’t walk straight… it zigzags!
It doesn’t walk in a line, and it doesn’t act like the other, too-serious zebras.
One day, it jumps between the trees, not looking where it’s going, and… BAM! It crashes into a bush.
“Ouch! This bush is really prickly!” says the zebra.
Soudain, une voix sort du buisson :
« Hey, fais attention quand tu marches ! »
C’est Rufus le renard !
Il ne semble pas content.
« Ah désolé, je ne t’ai pas vu ! » rigole le zèbre.
« Tu n’es pas fâché ? »
Suddenly, a voice comes from the bush:
« Hey, watch where you’re going! »
It’s Rufus the fox!
He doesn’t look happy.
« Oh, sorry, I didn’t see you! » laughs the zebra.
« You’re not mad, are you? »
Le renard ne répond pas tout de suite.
Puis, il rigole et dit : « Tu n’es pas un zèbre comme les autres ! »
« Bien sûr que non ! » s’exclame le zèbre.
« Je ne marche pas en ligne, je ne mange pas que de l’herbe, et surtout… je ne dis pas non à une course ! »
Le renard ne refuse pas le défi et court, fait des roulades et des pirouettes.
The fox doesn’t answer right away.
Then, he laughs and says, « You’re not like the other zebras! »
« Of course not! » exclaims the zebra.
« I don’t walk in a straight line, I don’t eat just grass, and most of all… I never say no to a race! »
The fox doesn’t back down from the challenge and starts running, rolling, and spinning around.
D’un coup, Rufus s’arrête.
« Ouf ! Je suis fatigué ! »
Le zèbre dit : ” Je t’aime bien! Tu veux être mon copain ? »
Depuis ce jour, le zèbre fou et le renard malin sont inséparables !
Suddenly, Rufus stops.
« Phew! I’m tired! »
The zebra says, « I like you! Do you want to be my friend? »
From that day on, the crazy zebra and the clever fox became inseparable!
