Les aventures de Bernard

The adventures of Bernard

Bernard aime beaucoup nager vite.

Bernard is a little dolphin.

He is blue, like the sea. He has smooth skin and pretty round eyes.

Bernard loves to swim fast. He jumps in the water.

Sometimes, he makes bubbles for fun.

He also plays with the fish and the waves.

Bernard lives with his mom in the ocean.

She is always by his side.

They swim together every day and look for little fish to eat.

Bernard is curious.

He likes to discover new places under the sea.

But in the evening, he is tired.

He watches the stars shine above the water and sleeps next to his mom.

One day, Bernard sees his friend Benoît.

Benoît is a little yellow fish. He swims fast and loves to play.

“Hello, Benoît! Come play with me!” says Bernard.

“Yes, I’m coming!” answers Benoît.

The two friends swim together in the clear water.

They glide through the seaweed, do spins, and laugh a lot.

Suddenly, they see a little striped fish. He is shy, but he smiles.

Then, a big baby slowly arrives — it’s a baby whale!

“Look, a baby whale!” says Bernard, excited.

“He’s so pretty!” replies Benoît, eyes shining.

The three friends swim gently around the baby whale.

They are happy to meet a new friend in the ocean.

A shark scaring a little fish.

Bernard a peur. Son cœur bat très vite.

Il nage rapidement pour se sauver.

— Bernard, attention !

But Bernard hears a sound.

It’s a loud sound… very loud!

A big sea monster is coming into the ocean. It has huge eyes and a big mouth!

Bernard is scared. His heart is beating very fast.

He swims quickly to escape.

“Bernard, watch out! The monster is very big!” shouts Benoît.

Bernard looks for a place to hide.

Quickly, he finds a big pink coral.

He hides behind it and doesn’t move.

He hopes the monster won’t see him.

Finally, after a long while, the monster swims away.

It slowly swims toward the bottom of the ocean.

Bernard and Benoît are relieved.

They are safe and sound, but a little tired.

Bernard says goodbye to his friend and quickly returns home.

When he arrives, he swims into his mother’s arms.

“Mom, Mom, I was scared of the monster, but now, phew, I’m safe,” he says.

His mom smiles and holds him close.

“The sea is beautiful, my little one, but you always have to be careful,” she says.

Bernard closes his eyes. He feels safe.

He thinks about his adventure… and falls asleep peacefully.

A baby dolphin and his mother under the sea.

Bernard dort.

Bernard is sleeping. In his sleep, he thinks about his friends and the sea.

He is having a very beautiful dream.

In his dream, he is swimming with Benoît.

They play, they laugh, and they make bubbles in the water.

Bernard is very happy.

Tomorrow, he wants to play with his friends again…

But this time, he will be more careful.
