La Vache Coquette et sa Journée Shopping

Clara, la vache coquette, vit dans un pré fleuri près d’un joli village. Elle adore la mode et passe son temps à rêver de nouvelles tenues. Un matin, elle se regarde dans son vieux miroir et soupire :

– « Mes vêtements sont démodés ! Il me faut une nouvelle blouse et un chapeau élégant ! »

Clara, the fashionable cow, lives in a flower-filled meadow near a charming village. She loves fashion and spends her time dreaming of new outfits.

One morning, she looks at herself in her old mirror and sighs,

– « My clothes are out of style! I need a new blouse and a fancy hat! »

Clara décide donc d’aller faire les boutiques. Elle met son collier brillant et sa petite clochette dorée, puis prend son sac à fleurs. Elle claque la porte de son étable et trotte joyeusement vers la place du village. Son amie Florette, la chèvre curieuse, l’aperçoit et s’exclame :

– « Clara, où vas-tu si bien habillée ? »

— Je vais faire les boutiques, répond Clara. Viens avec moi !

Clara decides to go shopping. She puts on her shiny necklace and little golden bell, then grabs her flower-patterned bag. She slams the door of her barn and happily trots toward the village square. Her friend Florette, the curious goat, spots her and exclaims:

— « Clara, where are you going all dressed up? »

— « I’m going shopping, » replies Clara. « Come with me! »

Florette accepte et les deux amies se dirigent vers le centre du village. Elles passent devant la boulangerie qui sent bon le pain chaud, puis devant la bibliothèque où elles entendent le bruit des pages qui se tournent. Enfin, elles arrivent devant la grande boutique de vêtements : « Chic et Choc ».

Florette agrees, and the two friends head toward the center of the village. They pass by the bakery, where the smell of freshly baked bread fills the air, and then by the library, where they hear the sound of pages turning. Finally, they arrive in front of the large clothing store: « Chic et Choc. »

Clara pousse la porte avec son museau et entre avec assurance. Devant elles, il y a des blouses colorées, des pantalons à fleurs et des foulards brillants. La vache coquette s’exclame : « Oh là là ! C’est magnifique ! » Elle essaie un pull violet, une robe bleue à pois et un foulard rouge flamboyant. Florette rigole :

– « Clara, tu ressembles à un arc-en-ciel ! »

Clara pushes the door open with her nose and walks in confidently. In front of them are colorful blouses, flowery pants, and shiny scarves. The fashionable cow exclaims, « Oh my! It’s magnificent! » She tries on a purple sweater, a blue polka-dotted dress, and a flaming red scarf. Florette laughs:

– « Clara, you look like a rainbow! »

La vendeuse, une poule élégante avec un chapeau à plumes, arrive et dit : « Bonjour mesdames ! Avez-vous trouvé votre bonheur ? »

— Oui, répond Clara, je prends cette blouse blanche et ce foulard flamboyant !

The saleswoman, an elegant chicken with a feathered hat, arrives and says, « Good day, ladies! Have you found what you’re looking for? »

— « Yes, » replies Clara, « I’ll take this white blouse and this dazzling scarf! »

La poule emballe les vêtements et Clara paie avec ses pièces brillantes. En sortant, Florette dit :

– « Maintenant, on va manger une glace ! »

Elles s’installent à la terrasse du café et savourent leur glace. Clara regarde son reflet dans la vitrine et sourit :

– « J’adore ma nouvelle blouse et mon foulard ! »

The chicken wraps up the clothes, and Clara pays with her shiny coins. As they exit, Florette says,

– « Now, let’s go have an ice cream! »

They sit down at the café terrace and enjoy their ice creams. Clara looks at her reflection in the shop window and smiles,

– « I love my new blouse and scarf! »

Depuis ce jour, on l’appelle « Clara la vache fashion » et tout le village admire ses tenues originales. Mais Clara reste toujours simple et partage volontiers ses astuces de mode avec ses amis du pré.

From that day on, she was known as « Clara the Fashion Cow, » and the whole village admired her unique outfits. But Clara remained humble and was always happy to share her fashion tips with her friends in the meadow.
